This is kozhukattai is rich protein packed dish. It tastes smooth like pongal and it is a wonderful choice for breakfast.
Ingredients:
Rice flour - 11/2 cup
Urad dal - 3/4 cup
Green chilies - 1
Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Water - 3 cups
Seasoning :
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Hing - a pinch
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tbsp
Method:
Soak urad dal for 1 hour and coarsely grind with green chilies.
In a pan, add oil and add mustard seeds. Once it splutters, add hing and curry leaves. Then add water and salt and allow it to boil.
Once it boils add grounded urad dal and along with pepper powder and mix well with water. Here urad dal doesnot mix immediately with water so nice mixing is required.
After 10 minutes add some more water and keep repeating the same until urad dal cooks. Then add rice flour and mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool.

Once it cools, make round patties like we make for Urad dal vada and steam cook for
10 minutes.
Check by pricking a fork and it comes clean, also the kozhukattai will be soft.

Serve with any chutney or sambhar. My hubby loved it plain without chutney.
